G12+ School Governments

Each of Penn’s graduate schools is represented by a G12+ school government (constituent partner). The school partners work closely with GAPSA to ensure a representative form of government.

 
 

ANNENBERG SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATION

The Annenberg Graduate Council is made up of six members of the ASC graduate student body. The group’s primary function is to represent the ASC student body and to convey its interests, suggestions, and grievances to the faculty, staff, and ASC administration, as well as to foster a collegial atmosphere for students.

SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE

PDM Executive Student Council represents the four classes of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. They strive to represent student needs to the faculty and to play an integral role in developing policies that affect all students.

GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

GSESG is a voice for the GSE student body and acts as a liaison with the administration, faculty, and alumni. They are committed to being a source of information, guidance, and service to students. The Student Government is also committed to being open to and supportive of the diversity of GSE’s students and to developing a sense of community among GSE constituents.

The Doctoral Student Organization (DSO) supports and encourage students by engaging in professional and social endeavors which will enhance educational experiences while promoting integrity of character, leadership, and organizational skills.

The SP2 Student Government is the student governance organization for the School of Social Policy & Practice.

WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

The WDC is run by Wharton PhD students for Wharton PhD students. The purpose of the Council is to create a strong community for doctoral students that crosses departmental lines.  This year, over thirty students are helping to run the council or organize events.

SCHOOL OF ARTS & SCIENCES

SASGov is the representative student government body in the School of Arts & Sciences, representing students in 34 graduate groups across a broad assortment of disciplines from Earth Science to Political Science and South Asia Regional Studies. They organize academic and social events; and provide funding for graduate students.

WEITZMAN SCHOOL OF DESIGN

Weitzman School of Design Student Council (StuCo) serves as a gateway for student groups and individuals to better connect with one another within the school and university through various events and other academic and social service initiatives.

CAREY SCHOOL OF LAW

The Council of Student Representatives (CSR) is the elected government of the Law School student body. CSR represents the interests and addresses the concerns of the student body. They also coordinate and regulate student activities and funds in the interest of the student body and provide services that improve the quality of life of Penn Law students.

PERELMAN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

Penn’s Medical Student Government (MSG) is the organization representing medical students attending the Perelman School of Medicine. They plan academic and social events; and act as a liaison between the administration and the students.

SCHOOL OF VETERINARY MEDICINE

Penn Vet SAVMA is the representative organization of the student body to the university and the greater veterinary community. SAVMA provides funding for Penn vet clubs, holds lunch talks, awards travel grants, funds weekly happy hours, and so much more!

LPSgov is tasked with understanding and expressing student values and opinions, ensuring that Masters’ students have access to valuable information to enhance their graduate experience, equitable distribution of funding, and working with other student groups to provide program-wide events designed to foster cohesiveness.

GSEG is the student government for all residential masters and PhD students at SEAS. They serve as a liaison between 22 programs. GSEG is tasked with the roles of representation, advocacy, and funding, as well as programming for academic, cultural, and social events.

The Graduate Student Organization (GSO) fosters a sense of community among the Master's students at the School of Nursing. GSO provides opportunities for social, academic and professional development and networking. GSO is a direct link between Master's students and the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

The Biomedical Graduate Student Association (BGSA) monitor issues of importance to the biomedical graduate student community, advocates for changes and sponsors both academic and social events of interest to the biomedical graduate student community.

WHARTON SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

The Wharton Graduate Association (WGA) coordinates and managing student activities and initiatives--academic, career, and social.  In addition to student representation, the WGA provides monetary and logistical resources to over 150 student-run clubs and conferences.
