Suzy Mu

Suzy Mu is a second-year Ph.D. Student in bioengineering. Her current research is to develop statistical models for genomic data using long-read sequencing.

Originally from China, Suzy completed her Bechelor's degree at Fudan University, studying theoretical and applied mechanics, where she developed a strong interest in biomechanics. Then she joined Penn to study more during her master's in Bioengineering. During her master's, she found many interesting topics about biostatistics and bioinformatics. Although she continued PhD study in Bioengineering, her research focus has slightly changed to biostatistics.

Outsides the research, Suzy has a broad interest, especially traveling to different regions to enjoy local culture. Curiosity of different cultures and different sides of views makes Suzy continue to explore the world.
