GAPSA's IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access and Leadership) Council is charged with representing graduate and professional affinity group interests across all of Penn's twelve graduate schools. Each of these organizations offer a variety of opportunities to connect academically, professionally, and socially.
Since its inception as the Select Committee, the IDEAL Council has advocated for the marginalized student body at Penn. IDEAL Council aims to provide financial and advocacy support to graduate affinity groups, amplifying the voices of our student leaders. Each of these organizations offer a variety of opportunities to connect academically, professionally, and socially. Our current advocacy efforts focus on bringing together graduate affinity groups and addressing issues on Inclusion, Diversity and Equity for the Penn Community as a whole. We also are pressing Penn Leadership for the creation of a Centralized Diversity Office and Diversity Ambassadors positions.
