September 17: GAPSA Social Activities sponsored a bourbon tasting at Jack's Firehouse in the Fairmont neighborhood. Fifty graduate students enjoyed a 5 course meal accompanied by four bourbons and one port. Jonathan Lukens (SP2) instructed the group on the history of bourbon.

On January 12, 2009 GAPSA hosted an educational wine pairing event at Lacroix Rittenhouse which featured a three course meal which included different wines paired with each course. Tickets were only $30 for students and their guests.

On Friday, November 21, 2008, GAPSA hosted its first formal event of the year at Ms. Tootsie’s RBL. Professional and graduate students dressed to the nines in black, white, or black and white, as all hues were banned for the hottest event since the GradFest boatcruise redocked at pier 3. From MBAs to JDs, to EdDs, any grad who is anyone was there.
