2400 Chestnut is the first hassle free apartment I`ve rented. The management actually cares about the tenants and repairs are taken care of quickly. I never have to convince them that something needs to be replaced or fixed, they just do it. And the building re-carpeted all the hallways and updated the entry system to keycards. They just keep on improving. I`ve been here for 2 years and plan on renewing again. 2 drawbacks are that if you`re facing west, the trains passing by can get loud (I got used to it) and the windows are a bit drafty. If they put in double paned windows that would solve both problems, but other than that I have no complaints.

I have lived in this building for 4 1/2 years and they have always been very accomodating to my needs. I have needed some "unique" lease extensions and it was never a problem. The staff is very friendly.

Overall, I have had a really great experience living in this apartment building. The staff is extremely friendly and responsive. The location is very close to the supermarket, pharmacy, and Penn`s campus. I really like the building`s shuttle that goes over to the school, having a free gym, the dry cleaner in the buildings, and free laundry machines on our floor. I have not seen any bugs or mice since I have been living in this apartment. The ONLY complaint I have is that the insulation on the windows isn`t great so I feel that the cost of heating tends to be higher than it probably should be.

2400 Chestnut is a great building to live in. The staff are friendly and get to know the residents, and the apartments are comfortable and have great light from large windows (which face either Center City or the Schukyll River and West Philly). Reasonably close to UPenn but also close to the train station and Center City.

I have lived in 2400 Chestnut for several years and overall have been very pleased. The staff and management are always very friendly and the apartments are clean. Whenever maintenance is required it will be addressed within 1-2 days. They also have washer and dryer on each floor which is a huge plus when it comes to apartments. All-in-all I would highly recommend this residence to any graduate student.

The doormen are very friendly and helpful and always manning the desk. The lobby area was recently redone and is quite aesthetically appealing. During the construction, it was discovered that one of the workers was breaking into apartments – this fellow was quickly identified and apprehended. The apartment management made it a point to disclose this information to occupants. I have never felt unsafe in the building.

I am very satisfied with my apt, the amenities offered by the building (24 hour front desk, shuttle service to campus, free washers/dryers on every floor, on site gym and dry cleaning), and it`s extremely convenient location. The management is responsive and professional. The building had some break-ins by a sub-contractor in Winter 2008, but this problem was honestly and openly communicated to all residents and appropriate measures were taken. Overall, I`ve felt very safe living here and prior to the recent break-ins never felt the need to use the dead-bolt. My unit has never had to undergo any major, inconvenient repairs nor have I had any problems with pests which is really the exception and not the rule in Philly. For comparison, my first year in Philly, I lived at the Fairfax at 43rd and Locust (for not that much less $) and was very unsatisfied with the overall maintenance of the building, the relentless roach infestation, a mouse siting in my apt, and the collapse of my bathroom ceiling for which repair didn`t take place for weeks. Needless to say I was relieved when I moved to 2400. This building has respectable quality standards and offers hassle free, convenient living. I plan to continue living at 2400 throughout grad school.

Great place to live -- friendly and accommodating landlord, quick response to inquiries and for repairs. Also, very sound-proof -- I never hear noise through the walls, ceiling, or floor. Trash disposal and free washers and driers on every floor is also a big plus.

The building is in good conditions. Lighting must be improve and furniture in common areas should be renewed. Common areas need paint work. Staff people is nice and always willing to help.

I love living here. They not only take care of you as a tenant, they care about you as a person. All of the security guards know everyone in the building and are incredibly friendly. They go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you are happy, safe, and secure.

A great value and good building. The doormen and parking attendants are especially nice and helpful. Has an industrial feel but other than that, absolutely no negatives. Very prompt with normal day-day repairs.
