External Affairs Committee

As the advocacy and lobbying arm of GAPSA, External Affairs is the chief policy advocate for the Penn graduate and professional student body, representing more than 13,000 constituents. Membership in External Affairs would empower you to fight for issues you care about, such as reducing student loan debt, streamlining Penn’s reporting system for sexual misconduct, or protecting fellow students who are undocumented or at Penn on student visas. Example roles: coordinating lobbying trips to Harrisburg and DC, writing position statements, bringing politicians to campus, being an “issue czar” — that is, owning a particular issue or cause and getting something tangible done on it— and more!
