This year’s funshops are integrated into the head-2-head competition. So get out there and help your school win! Put on an awesome “fun”shop for GradFesters and judges. Every year the funshops are bigger and better — what can we expect on May 2?

Interschool Head-2-Head Competition
WHAT IS THE HEAD-2-HEAD INTER-SCHOOL COMPETITION?
Each school will be asked to create a team of up to 10 graduate and/or professional students to participate in a variety of activities and events. Throughout the day, that school’s team will have the opportunity to earn 100 points! The team with the most points at 4:45pm will win $500 towards the student government budget. And that’s not all…the winning grad school will also earn the bragging rights to proudly display the Super “Grad School” Bowl Trophy!!
EVENTS
Grad School Fun Shops (12-2pm)
- Each grad school will be reimbursed for up to $300 up front to create a “Fun Shop.” A Fun Shop is a presentation sharing the unique qualities of your school with other graduate and professional students.
- There are no requirements or restrictions, but you will be judged by GradFest Committee Members on your creativity and relation to your school
- 30 POINTS POSSIBLE
Pie Eating Contest @ 12:30
- Two members from each team will compete in a pie-eating contest.
- Points will be awarded in two rounds as follows:
- 1st Place: 10 POINTS
- 2nd Place: 7 POINTS
- 3rd Place: 5 POINTS
Mechanical Bull @ 1:00
- Two members from each team will compete in a round of a mechanical bull-riding contest.
- The longer you last, the more points you earn!
- More than fifteen seconds: 10 POINTS
- Between ten and fifteen seconds: 7 POINTS
- Less than ten seconds: 5 POINTS.
Relay Race @ 1:30
- Four team members will compete in a relay race around College Hall.
- There will be three rounds:
- Each 1st Place team will earn 10 POINTS
- Each 2nd Place team will earn 7 POINTS
- Each 3rd Place team will earn 5 POINTS
Poker @ 2:00
- Two members from each team will participate in an approximately 30 minute Poker game.
- 1st Place: 10 POINTS
- 2nd Place: 7 POINTS
- 3rd Place: 5 POINTS
PRIZES
- Grand Prize Team- $500 for Grad School’s government for a social activity
- 1st Runner Up Team - tentatively $75 for Chipotle
- 2nd Runner Up Team - tentatively $35 for Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream
- Various Prizes for individual team members during each of the five events listed below.
PERKS & DEADLINES
- Team members receive free admission to GradFest’09 & free t-shirt!
- Each team is required to have 8 to 10 members and each school must submit their list of names by 5pm on April 3rd, 2009 to gradfest@gmail.com.
- A captain must be identified as a point of contact and please provide t-shirt sizes for each team member.
- Substitutions may be allowed after April 3rd, but no additional team members will be permitted.
- Don’t forget a team name!
THE WINNING TEAMS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AND PRIZES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AT 4:45PM IN WYNN COMMONS
