The 2008-2009 Research Student Council has identified four key focus issues: 

• Paperless application process for both academic funding and conference travel grants 
• Obtain and review the Ph.D. exit survey (SDSO) data collected by the University   
• Work with members of SASgov on issues related to library policy  
• Retirement planning for graduate students in research programs
